SUMMARY:Demystifying AI & ML – From Theory to Practice
DESCRIPTION:Type of EventTechnical SeminarTopicDemystifying AI & ML – From Theory to PracticeDate02-06-2023Time10:00 A.M to 04:00 P.MStudents attended3rd Semester students of AI & MLFaculty Coordinator(s)Prof. Vignesh T V\, Assistant Professor\n\n\n\nThe technical seminar on “Demystifying AI and ML” aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to the participants. The seminar covered various fundamental concepts\, techniques\, and applications of AI and ML\, highlighting their potential and challenges in today’s world. \n\n\n\nA One-day technical seminar was conducted for the 2nd year students of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning department on “Demystifying AI & ML – From Theory to Practice” on 02-06-2023 by department of AI&ML in association with Delithe Consultancy Services\, Bengaluru. The resource persons were Mr. Arun Rajpurohit\, Mr. Vijay and Ms. Medini who are serving as lead trainers of Delithe. \n\n\n\nAn Inaugural ceremony was conducted on 02-06-2023 at second floor Seminar Hall at 10:00 A.M. This ceremony was conducted under the presidency of Principal of CIT -Dr. M Basavaraj\, The resource persons Mr. Arun Rajpurohit\, Mr. Vijay and Ms. Medini who are serving as lead trainers of Delithe were also present. HoD of AI&ML\, Dr. Ramakrishna B.B\, all teaching & non-teaching faculties and students were present during this occasion. \n\n\n\nInitially the welcome speech was delivered by M Sai Sneha Latha Reddy\, who is 2nd year student of AI&ML department. Later\, respected Principal of the college Dr. M Basavaraj spoke about the importance of AI & ML in the current world. Also\, the resource persons were introduced to the audience by Isha Ganapathy\, a student of 2nd year. Vote of thanks was conveyed by Yathisha S K\, a student of 2nd year. \n\n\n\nDay 1: 02/06/2023 – Introduction to AI & ML \n\n\n\nMorning Session – 10:30 AM to 01:00 PM: \n\n\n\nThe first session of the technical seminar focused on demystifying AI and ML by providing a clear definition of these terms. This session was engaged by Ms. Medini B V\, who is the lead trainer of Delithe\, Bengaluru. The resource person covered the differences between AI and ML\, explaining that AI refers to the broader concept of machines exhibiting human-like intelligence\, while ML is a subset of AI that enables machines to learn from data without being explicitly programmed. The resource person delved into the core concepts of ML\, starting with supervised learning\, unsupervised learning\, and reinforcement learning. The participants learned about the basic building blocks of ML\, such as datasets\, features\, labels\, and models. The session also introduced popular ML algorithms\, including linear regression\, logistic regression\, decision trees\, and support vector machines. In this session\, the resource person highlighted real-world applications of AI and ML across diverse industries. She also showcased how AI and ML are transforming healthcare through disease diagnosis\, drug discovery\, and personalized treatment. The participants also learned about AI-driven advancements in autonomous vehicles\, natural language processing\, fraud detection\, and recommendation systems. Finally\, a Q&A session was also done. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session – 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM: \n\n\n\nThe afternoon session was a hands-on session which was engaged by Ms. Medini B V\, a lead trainer of Delithe. The session began with an overview of Arduino\, explaining its open-source nature and the wide range of applications it supports. Participants learned about the various Arduino boards available and their features\, including digital and analog input/output pins\, power supply options\, and communication interfaces. The session then focused on the Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and programming microcontrollers using the Arduino programming language. Participants were guided through the installation of the Arduino IDE and introduced to its interface. They learned how to write\, compile\, and upload code to an Arduino board. Participants were introduced to their first hands-on project\, which involved blinking an LED using an Arduino board. They learned how to connect the LED to the board\, write the necessary code to control it\, and upload the code for execution. This project helped participants understand the basic structure of an Arduino program and the use of digital output pins.
