SUMMARY:National Science Day Celebration – 2026
DESCRIPTION:National Science Day\, organized by the Institution Innovation Cell (IIC)\, Coorg Institute of Technology\, was celebrated on 28 February 2026 to promote scientific temper\, innovation\, research\, entrepreneurship\, and awareness of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among students and faculty.\nThe programme featured an expert lecture on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” by Mr. Vijaykumar Shivpuje\, IPR expert and innovation mentor. The session covered different types of intellectual property\, patentability criteria\, patent filing procedures in India\, prior-art search\, and the role of IPR in startups and technology commercialization.\nThe interactive session encouraged students to explore innovative ideas\, pursue research\, and protect their projects through patents.
