DESCRIPTION:The Students’ Association “Technova” of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering  organized a technical seminar to students’ entitled “Tech Zenith” on the 14th of November 2024. The seminar was organized for the students of the 3rd semester. The seminar conducted witnessed active participation from students showcasing their technical acumen and research capabilities. The jury members were namely Dr. Yathiraj G R\, HOD\, Department of CS&E(Cyber Security)\, Prof. Vignesh TV and Prof. Sethulaxmi \, Assistant Professors from the Department of AI&ML and AI&DS respectively. A total of 64 students participated in the Technical Seminar. Harshith AK bagged the first prize and Dona Mitchel bagged the second prize. Participation certificates were distributed to all the student.

SUMMARY:VIDHWATH 2.0 – AN INTRA COLLEGE QUIZ COMPETITION (PRELIMS ROUND)
DESCRIPTION:The prelims of the Vidwath-2.0 intra-college general quiz competition was successfully conducted on 11th November 2024. A total of 38 teams from various departments participated enthusiastically. Students registered through a QR code and used the Kahoot app to take part in the quiz.After a competitive session\, four teams—DOUBLE TROUBLE\, LIVA\, AI4\, and AD MAX—emerged as the top scorers and qualified for the final round. The prelims round was successful in encouraging active student engagement\, quick thinking\, and healthy academic competition.

A report was presented by Prof. Sangana Koti Reddy on the previous Technova events which included information on the events conducted\, number of participants. Badges were distributed to all the newly elected office bearers of the Student Association which was a way to identify and create a sense of community. The newly elected office bearers took an oath to uphold the values of the Technova association.

SUMMARY:Bits and Brains- Tech Trivia
DESCRIPTION:The Student Association “TECHNOVA” of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized an event “Bits and Brains -Tech Trivia” on 26th of July\, 2024 at 02.30PM in the third-floor seminar hall with the objective of assessing the technical knowledge and skills of students from Computer Science and allied branches and to foster a spirit of healthy competition among them. Our beloved Principal Dr. M Basavaraj addressed the students and Prof. Daina K K\, Hod of Computer Science and Engineering\, and all the teaching and non- teaching staff of the department attended the event. The competition was conducted for the second year and third year students. \nThe “Bits and Brains Tech Trivia” was an exciting two-day event that tested participants’ knowledge in computer science and related fields. The event kicked off with a preliminary round conducted online via the Kahoot platform. This round featured 20 questions covering the basics of Computer Science and its various domains. A total of 35 teams\, each comprising two members\, registered for the event. Based on their rankings in the quiz\, the top four teams advanced to the finals. The finals were structured into four challenging rounds on 31st of July 2024 at 10.30AM. A unique scoring system added an element of strategy to the competition. First place was bagged by Varshitha and Preethi of 6th semester Computer Science and Engineering and second place was bagged by AI&ML 3rd year students. \n1)Team THE BOYS won Second place \n\n2)Teams selected for the final round \n  \n\n3)Interaction between the teams in the final round \n  \n\n4)Team FRIENDS won First place

During this event prizes for 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝟮.𝟬\, 𝗨𝘁𝗸𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵 𝟮.𝟬\, and 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 were given. \n4. 𝟲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 were distributed to 𝟴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 of 𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗜 & 𝗠𝗟 from 𝗞𝗼𝗸𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀\, 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗿𝘂. \n5. 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 was engaged to students by 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 on 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. \nStudent Enablement Programme (SEP) titled “Artificial Intelligence” in association with Infosys Springboard \nThe 5-day Student Enablement Programme titled “Artificial Intelligence” was conducted between 22nd to 26th July 2024 in collaboration with Infosys Springboard\, focusing on cutting-edge topics like Deep Learning\, NLP\, RPA\, Computer Vision\, and Data Science. It provided students with hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge essential for the AI domain. Participants from the 4th and 6th semesters of AI & ML benefited from expert-led sessions held daily from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

DESCRIPTION:The Student Association “TECHNOVA” of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a mini project exhibition on IoT- ‘Project Palooza’ for 6th semester students of Computer Science and Engineering on 23rd July 2024. The mini project exhibition showcased an impressive array of innovative and creative projects created by the students. Dr. M. Basavaraj\, Principal and Mrs. Daina K K\, HOD\, Department of Computer Science and Engineering visited the exhibition during the scheduled time and were warmly welcomed by the organizing committee and students. Mr. Ramesh H R\, HOD\, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science was the judge for the event. \nAll Heads of Departments attended the exhibition\, alongside other faculty members from all the departments. They provided valuable feedback and guidance to the students. They took a comprehensive tour of the exhibition\, engaging with students and gaining insights into the projects. Each team had a designated booth where they demonstrated their projects and explained their working models to the visitors. \nAt the end of the exhibition\, results were announced. There were 55 students in the mini project exhibition and 14 batches participated in the event. It was delightful to announce and celebrate a momentous achievement as Azmeena A A and team secured the prestigious first place\, Deepa S J and team secured second place and Kavya K S and team secured third place in the mini project exhibition.

The morning session covers descriptive statistics\, pattern identification\, and feature engineering. \nDAY 3: \nDay three introduces supervised learning with a focus on regression. The morning session covers the basics of supervised learning\, linear regression models\, and their assumptions. \nDAY 4: \nThe fourth day is dedicated to classification algorithms. The morning session covers logistic regression\, decision trees\, and k-Nearest Neighbors\, along with model evaluation techniques like confusion matrices and ROC curves. \nDAY 5: \nParticipants explored unsupervised learning on the fifth day\, starting with an introduction to its applications and key differences from supervised learning. The morning session covers clustering algorithms such as k-means\, hierarchical clustering\, and DBSCAN. \nDAY 6: \nThe final day emphasizes model deployment and a capstone project. The morning session introduces model deployment using Flask and Django\, building REST APIs\, and deploying models on cloud platforms like AWS\, GCP\, and Azure.

DESCRIPTION:Workshop on “IOT Application for Product Development” \n  \nThe Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized Three days’ workshop on “IOT Application for Product Development” from 23rd May 2024 to 25th May 2024\, was an insightful event led by Mr.Kotresh Mundrugi\,Director\, Infotech Solution\,Bengaluru and Vikas  P .The program was organized for Third year students. \nDAY 1: \nOn the first day\, the session started with a brief explanation about the need for IoT in industrial applications\, followed by the methodology for its implementation. Participants were introduced to embedded system design\, sensors\, and actuators for collecting data to monitor over IoT. The session concluded with a detailed explanation of microcontrollers and microprocessors. \nIn the afternoon\, the focus shifted to Python program development for basic switching applications\, including control commands\, logic gates implementation\, and internal registers utilization. \nResource person interacting with students during Workshop \nDAY 2: \nOn the second day\, the session covered the need for mobile apps in industrial IoT\, followed by an introduction to GUI-based modular mobile app development. The session also included discussions on the basic elements of front-end design (UI)\, the usage of graphics and other media elements in UI\, and text-to-speech and speech-to-text conversions using onboard elements of mobile devices. The session concluded with a discussion on data storage and fetching from cloud databases. The session also covered the integration of code with Firebase for establishing IoT connections and capturing data using the developed mobile app for cloud storage. \nResource person interacting with students during Workshop \nDAY 3: \nThe final day began with a session on frontend and backend code development for GUI-based control panels\, including integration with Firebase for establishing IoT connections. The workshop covered the need for actuators circuits and the establishment of communication between cloud databases and mobile embedded systems for real-time value storing. The day concluded with the development of a health monitoring system using IoT and the final testing of the product.
