He shared valuable experiences from his own journey and encouraged students to actively engage in opportunities for learning and growth.\nFollowing the successful inauguration of the Computer Science Department Student Association Program\, a workshop on Cyber Security was organized. Dr. Gururaj H L and his esteemed coworker\, Dr. Shreyas J collaboratively brought together their expertise and insights\, providing an invaluable learning opportunity for the students. The workshop began with an in-depth overview of the current cyber security landscape. The audience learned about the significance of singularity in cutting edge technology and its potential implications for the future.

Mr. Raghavendra D educated the students about how evolving fields like engineering and technology changes with continuous advancement and jobs in the IT industry demand trained and up-to-date individuals that keep track of industry changes. The resource person explained how Career guidance can help students understand their strengths\, weaknesses\, and interests\, and provided them with a clearer picture of the career paths available to them. He also explained the students about the importance of improving communication skills and how it enables students to identify\, articulate\, model\, and solve problems. A total of around 236 students participated in the session.

DESCRIPTION:The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a talk on “IT challenges and opportunities” on 26th June at 11:30 a.m. The talk was organized for the second year and pre-final year students of Computer Science and Engineering\, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Electronics and Communication departments at 3rd floor seminar hall. The resource person of the event was Mr. Sanjay G S\, Head of Engineering/CTO\, Monnai Technology India Pvt. Ltd\, Bangalore. Mrs. Kirthan K M Assistant Professor\, Department of Computer Science and Engineering welcomed the gathering and was the Master of Ceremony. Dr. M Basavaraj\, Principal introduced the resource person. Mrs. Kirthan K M delivered vote of thanks. Prof. Daina K K\, the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and all department HOD’s\, teaching faculties were also present for the event. \n\n\n\nThe resource person explained VUCA\, an acronym based on the leadership theories. Volatility\, Uncertainty\, Complexity and Ambiguity refers to leaders who are able or forced to shift and respond to changes in their respective industry or market with corresponding solutions that are quick and agile. He also briefed about Big Data and its importance in companies to improve operations\, provide better customer service\, create personalized marketing campaigns. The resource person also gave insights about roles and responsibilities and talent requirements for IT.

The resource persons were Mr. Arun Rajpurohit\, Mr. Vijay and Ms. Medini who are serving as lead trainers of Delithe. \n\n\n\nAn Inaugural ceremony was conducted on 02-06-2023 at second floor Seminar Hall at 10:00 A.M. This ceremony was conducted under the presidency of Principal of CIT -Dr. M Basavaraj\, The resource persons Mr. Arun Rajpurohit\, Mr. Vijay and Ms. Medini who are serving as lead trainers of Delithe were also present. HoD of AI&ML\, Dr. Ramakrishna B.B\, all teaching & non-teaching faculties and students were present during this occasion. \n\n\n\nInitially the welcome speech was delivered by M Sai Sneha Latha Reddy\, who is 2nd year student of AI&ML department. Later\, respected Principal of the college Dr. M Basavaraj spoke about the importance of AI & ML in the current world. Also\, the resource persons were introduced to the audience by Isha Ganapathy\, a student of 2nd year. Vote of thanks was conveyed by Yathisha S K\, a student of 2nd year. \n\n\n\nDay 1: 02/06/2023 – Introduction to AI & ML \n\n\n\nMorning Session – 10:30 AM to 01:00 PM: \n\n\n\nThe first session of the technical seminar focused on demystifying AI and ML by providing a clear definition of these terms. This session was engaged by Ms. Medini B V\, who is the lead trainer of Delithe\, Bengaluru. The resource person covered the differences between AI and ML\, explaining that AI refers to the broader concept of machines exhibiting human-like intelligence\, while ML is a subset of AI that enables machines to learn from data without being explicitly programmed. The resource person delved into the core concepts of ML\, starting with supervised learning\, unsupervised learning\, and reinforcement learning. The participants learned about the basic building blocks of ML\, such as datasets\, features\, labels\, and models. The session also introduced popular ML algorithms\, including linear regression\, logistic regression\, decision trees\, and support vector machines. In this session\, the resource person highlighted real-world applications of AI and ML across diverse industries. She also showcased how AI and ML are transforming healthcare through disease diagnosis\, drug discovery\, and personalized treatment. The participants also learned about AI-driven advancements in autonomous vehicles\, natural language processing\, fraud detection\, and recommendation systems. Finally\, a Q&A session was also done. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session – 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM: \n\n\n\nThe afternoon session was a hands-on session which was engaged by Ms. Medini B V\, a lead trainer of Delithe. The session began with an overview of Arduino\, explaining its open-source nature and the wide range of applications it supports. Participants learned about the various Arduino boards available and their features\, including digital and analog input/output pins\, power supply options\, and communication interfaces. The session then focused on the Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and programming microcontrollers using the Arduino programming language. Participants were guided through the installation of the Arduino IDE and introduced to its interface. They learned how to write\, compile\, and upload code to an Arduino board. Participants were introduced to their first hands-on project\, which involved blinking an LED using an Arduino board. They learned how to connect the LED to the board\, write the necessary code to control it\, and upload the code for execution. This project helped participants understand the basic structure of an Arduino program and the use of digital output pins.

In the context of industry automation\, IoT enables the seamless integration of machines\, processes\, and humans\, leading to improved efficiency\, productivity\, and decision-making.AI plays a vital role in industry automation by enabling machines to mimic human intelligence and perform complex tasks. It empowers automation systems to make autonomous decisions\, learn from data\, and continuously improve.ML\, a subset of AI\, focuses on algorithms and models that enable systems to learn from data and improve their performance over time. ML is extensively used in industry automation to analyze complex data patterns\, optimize processes\, and enable predictive capabilities.Afternoon Session – 02:00 PM to 04:30 PM:In the afternoon session\, Ms. Medini B V and Mr. Vijay gave hands on session on IOT devices and its applications. They were instructed to apply the learned applications using Raspberry Pi and Arduino devices. The instructor provided guidance and support as participants worked on their assignments. The instructor\, Mr. Kartik Nanneboina started by explaining the role of HTML in creating the structure of web pages\, while CSS is used for styling and visual presentation. The participants were encouraged to use Visual Studio Code (VS Code) as their integrated development environment (IDE) throughout the session. During this session\, the instructor provided an overview of HTML basics\, including the structure of an HTML document\, the use of tags\, and their attributes. The participants learned about essential HTML tags such as <html>\, <body>\, <head>\, <h1> to <h6>\, <p> and <div>. Practical examples were given to demonstrate the usage of these tags in creating a well-structured HTML page. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session – 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM: \n\n\n\nIn the afternoon session\, the focus then shifted to CSS\, with an emphasis on selectors\, properties\, and values. The instructor explained how CSS enables developers to customize the appearance of HTML elements. Participants learned about CSS selectors such as element selectors\, class selectors\, and ID selectors. The students also gained insights into CSS properties and how they can be used to modify the appearance of HTML elements. To reinforce the concepts covered\, the participants engaged in a hands-on activity. Using VS Code\, they were tasked with creating a skeleton HTML file with basic aesthetics. They were instructed to apply the learned HTML tags and CSS properties to structure and style the HTML page effectively. The instructor provided guidance and support as participants worked on their assignments. \n\n\n\nDay 2: 23/05/2023 – Intermediate HTML and CSS \n\n\n\nMorning Session – 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM: \n\n\n\nThis session began with the review of HTML basics and introducing more advanced HTML tags. Participants surveyed on CSS selectors and applying styles to specific elements which is essential for creating\, engaging and visually appealing websites. The instructor Mr. Kartik\, made them understand the importance of semantic markup\, utilizing elements\, implementing form elements and attributes and incorporating multi-media content. Students gained proficiency to control the size\, spacing and layout of elements and understanding different types of CSS selectors and managing specificity to target and style elements effectively. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session – 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM: \n\n\n\nIn the afternoon\, the session was about the introduction to responsive web design and media queries\, embracing responsive design principles to ensure website adapt to different screen sizes. Students were taught to implement CSS media queries to apply specific styles based on characteristics such as screen width\, height and pixel density. The hands-on exercise on creating responsive web pages offers participants a practical opportunity to apply responsive design principles. By employing media queries and implementing responsive images\, participants develop the skills needed to adapt websites to different screen size effectively. Through testing and experimentation participants gain valuable insights into the importance of responsive design. \n\n\n\nDay 3: 24/05/2023 – Introduction to JavaScript \n\n\n\nMorning Session – 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM: \n\n\n\nThe trainer Mr. Kartik continued the course by introducing JavaScript and its role in the Web development\, JavaScript is easier and efficient to design a web page\, trainer thought JavaScript syntax and basics programming concepts in this session\, and also introducing the datatypes used in JavaScript and declaring and initializing variables and types of operators used in JavaScript. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session – 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM: \n\n\n\nThe trainer started the afternoon session teaching students how to manipulate the HTML DOM using JavaScript\, the session included interactive demonstrations\, hands-on exercises\, and discussions to ensure understanding of JavaScript. Students participated in Hands-on exercises on creating interactive web elements with JavaScript. \n\n\n\nDay 4: 25/05/2023 – Python Flask Backend \n\n\n\nMorning Session – 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM: \n\n\n\nThe day 4 began with an overview of Flask\, a popular Python web framework known for its simplicity and flexibility. The instructor Mr. Karthik\, discussed Flask’s philosophy\, design principles\, and advantages over other frameworks. Participants learned about Flask’s lightweight nature\, modularity\, and extensive community support. To facilitate practical implementation\, the workshop provided step-by-step guidance on setting up a Flask development environment. Participants learned how to install Flask and its dependencies using package managers like pip. The instructor also explained the importance of virtual environments to maintain project-specific dependencies and isolation. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session – 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM: \n\n\n\nThe afternoon session of day 4 covered the fundamentals of routing in Flask. Participants learned how to define routes using decorators and associate them with specific URL patterns. Participants were introduced to Flask’s form handling capabilities. The instructor Mr. Karthik\, explained how to create forms using Flask-WTF and demonstrated how to validate and process user input. Participants learned about common form elements\, such as text fields\, checkboxes\, and radio buttons\, and explored techniques for handling form submissions and displaying error messages. \n\n\n\nDay 5: 26/05/2023 – Introduction to database & Overview of SQL using VS Code \n\n\n\nMorning Session – 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM: \n\n\n\nThe first session of Day 5 was about the introduction to database and their role in web-development. The trainer Mr. Kartik thought participants that a database is storing system that collects organized data\, to make some works easier like searching\, structure and extend. In web development\, most databases use the relational database management system (RDBMS). Also\, the trainer thought how to organize data and programming in VS Code. He also taught about the importance of database. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session – 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM: \n\n\n\nDuring afternoon session of Day 5\, the trainer Mr. Kartik thought how to connect flask with a database and how to add database functionality to a flask app named SQL Alchemy\, to add this data to the database by using the “POST” method (POST is used to send data to a server to create/update a resource) in flask. The participants also built a Flask application that takes data in a form from the user and then displays it on another page on the website. \n\n\n\nDay 6: 27/05/2023 – Project Development and Deployment \n\n\n\nMorning Session – 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM: \n\n\n\nOn day 6\, the Trainer Mr. Kartik guided the students in developing a full-stack web application\, revised the concepts covered in all previous 5 days and developed a Shop cart application using Flask framework and python script integrated with Database\, HTML and CSS. The developed Shop cart application consisted login\, create and delete-profile web pages. Creating menu by integrating database and creating bill. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session – 01:00 PM to 02:30 PM: \n\n\n\nAfternoon session of day 6 was about how to deploy the web application to a server. The participants created their own server using python script and deployed shop cart application to server and the trainer introduced Bootstrap which is free front-end framework for faster and easier web development includes HTML and CSS based design templates for forms\, buttons\, tables. Finally\, the Shopkart application is created as practical application and presented. Also\, Q&A session was held. \n\n\n\nValedictory function: \n\n\n\nFinally\, Valedictory function was organized at 02:30 P.M. This ceremony was conducted under the presidency of the institute Principal Dr. M Basavaraj. The chief guest for this ceremony was Mr. Kartik N\, who was the resource person for this course. All teaching & non-teaching faculties and students were present during this occasion. \n\n\n\nInitially the welcome speech was delivered by Prof. Vignesh T V\, who is the coordinator of this event and serving as an Assistant Professor in AI&ML department. Later\, respected Principal of the college Dr. M Basavaraj thanked the resource person Mr. Kartik N for conducting the web development course and hand overed a token of gratitude for his gracious presence and sharing his knowledge on “Full Stack Web Development using Flask Framework”. \n\n\n\nAlso\, he congratulated all the students for actively participating in the course and making this event a grand success. The workshop resource person initially focusedon introduction to python\, its features and applications. The students got achance to learn python data types\, operators\, control structures\, functions\, datastructures\, modules\, packages\, oops concepts\, files\, libraries of Data sciencethoroughly. Meanwhile the queries raised by the students were also answered inan efficient way in all the sessions by the resource persons.The workshop participants were able to successfully code and run theirprograms. SUMMARY:Add-on Course entitled “Amazon Web Services”
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized five-days Add-on Course on “Amazon Web Services” from 25th April 2023 to 29th April 2023. The programme was organized for the pre-final year students. The inaugural ceremony was conducted in the 3rd floor seminar hall. The resource persons of the event was Mr. Kotresh M\, Director\, Indian Tech-Keys\, Bengaluru and Mr. Swaroop Rajagopal\, Software Engineer\, Indian Tech-Keys\, Bengaluru. Mr. Kotresh M\, was the chief guest of the event and Honorable Secretary of Kodava Education Society\, Sri C P Rakesh Poovaiah was the Guest of Honour. Students of 6th semester Ms. Drushya Dechakka welcomed the gathering\, Ms. Vivina Muthamma introduced the resource person\, Mr. Rohan Ponnanna delivered vote of thanks\, Ms.  Payal Thangamma was the Master of Ceremony. Dr. M Basavaraj\, Principal and Prof. Daina K K\, the Head of the Department and teaching and non-teaching staff were present in the inauguration function. \n\n\n\nDAY 1 \n\n\n\nMorning Session 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM \n\n\n\nThe Add on Course began with an introduction to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its various services after the inaugural function. The session covered the basics of AWS\, its history\, and its significance in today’s technology-driven world. The session also included an overview of AWS’s core services\, including EC2\, S3\, and RDS. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session 2:00PM to 4:00PM \n\n\n\nIn the afternoon session\, the focus was on setting up AWS accounts and creating instances. The session covered the basics of setting up AWS accounts\, creating instances\, and configuring them to meet specific requirements. Participants were also introduced to various AWS tools\, including AWS Management Console\, AWS Command Line Interface (CLI)\, and AWS Software Development Kit (SDK). \n\n\n\nDAY 2 \n\n\n\nMorning Session 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM \n\n\n\nThe morning session of day 2 focused on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). Participants learned about the benefits of using EC2 and S3\, their features\, and how to set them up. The session also covered the different types of EC2 instances and their use cases. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session 2:00PM to 4:00PM \n\n\n\nThe afternoon session focused on Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) and Amazon DynamoDB. The session covered the benefits of using RDS and DynamoDB\, their features\, and how to set them up. Participants learned about the different types of databases available and their use cases. \n\n\n\nDAY 3 \n\n\n\nMorning Session 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM \n\n\n\nThe morning session of day 3 focused on Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM). Participants learned about VPC and its features\, including security groups and network access control lists (ACLs). The session also covered IAM\, including how to create users\, groups\, and policies. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session 2:00PM to 4:00PM \n\n\n\nThe afternoon session focused on Amazon CloudFront and Amazon Route 53. Participants learned about the benefits of using CloudFront and Route 53\, their features\, and how to set them up. The session also covered the different types of distributions available for CloudFront. \n\n\n\nDAY 4 \n\n\n\nMorning Session 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM \n\n\n\nThe morning session of day 4 focused on AWS Lambda and AWS Elastic Beanstalk. Participants learned about the benefits of using Lambda and Elastic Beanstalk\, their features\, and how to set them up. The session also covered the different types of Lambda functions and the different types of Elastic Beanstalk environments. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session 2:00PM to 4:00PM \n\n\n\nThe afternoon session focused on creating and launching Instance. To create new key pair. \n\n\n\nThe students got the thorough knowledge in creating an instance and launching it and to host web app in AWS Server. \n\n\n\nDAY 5 \n\n\n\nMorning Session 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM \n\n\n\nThe morning session of day 5 focused on AWS CloudTrail and AWS CloudWatch. Participants learned about the benefits of using CloudTrail and CloudWatch\, their features\, and how to set them up. The session also covered the different types of logs available for CloudTrail and the different types of metrics available for CloudWatch. \n\n\n\nAfternoon Session 2:00PM to 4:00PM The final session of the Add on Course was a hands-on lab session. They were given a series of tasks to complete using AWS services\, and they had to apply what they learned to complete the tasks successfully.

DESCRIPTION:The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has taken initiative to organize an event on green initiative on Tuesday\, 7th March 2023. The final year students of all departments visited various schools around the college to create awareness on Green Initiative. And the plants were distributed and planted in all the schools to create awareness in the children and also to maintain those plants. \n\n\n\nThe schools identified for the different departments are: \n\n\n\n\nGMP school\, Gonikoppal – Mechanical Engineering department\n\n\n\nGMP school\, Ponnampet – Civil Engineering department\n\n\n\nGMP High school\, Gonikoppal – Electronics & Communication department\n\n\n\nAthur school\, Athur – Computer Science and Engineering department\n\n\n\nGMP school\, Polibetta – Computer Science and Engineering department\n\n\n\n\nThe different activities identified were: \n\n\n\n\nPlanting trees\n\n\n\nRemoving trash\n\n\n\nA talk on deforestation\n\n\n\nA talk on segregation of wet and dry waste.\n\n\n\nA talk on Introducing compostable options to replace plastic.\n\n\n\n\nThe students of different department were divided into different groups to perform the above mentioned activities: \n\n\n\n\nA talk on deforestation was delivered by Neha V V (CS&E)\, Shwetha M(CSE)\, Jhanvi Uthappa (CSE)\, Disha Somaiah (CSE)\, Supreeth (CSE)\, Sowmya (EC)\, Chethan (EC)\, Inchara Nayaka B V(CV)\, Gowtham Gappanna A M(ME)\, K A Tharang (ME).\n\n\n\n A talk on segregation of wet and dry waste was delivered by Supriya M(CS&E)\, Unnatha S(CS&E)\, Sinchana (EC)\, Hemanth (EC)\, Ashwini C Nayak (CV)\, Pranam B R(ME)\, Puneeth Kumar H S(ME).\n\n\n\n A talk on Introducing compostable options to replace plastic   was delivered by Gangamma B P (CS&E)\, Hemashree (CS&E)\, Amshika M S(CS&E)\, Nirup N (CS&E)\, Sinchana (EC)\, Hemanth (EC)\, Anjali M R(CV).\n\n\n\n\nApart from the activities assigned\, the students also interacted with the school students about various things\, played some games\, shared stories and made it a memorable and successful event.
