SUMMARY:Advanced LabVIEW
DESCRIPTION:Three days Workshop on “Advanced LabVIEW”: \n\n\n\nA three-day workshop titled “Advance LabVIEW” was conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering for third-semester students from 30/01/2022 to 01/02/ 2023\, with the goal of bridging the knowledge gap between the academic curriculum and industrial practice. The resource person was Mr. Manjunatha V.R\, Embedded Software Specialist\, CS Group\, Montreal\, Canada and this practical session was attended by 49 students in total. \n\n\n\nLabVIEW is a graphical programming language used for simulation as well as building real-world systems in association with NI modules. LabVIEW software is very much relevant to Communication\, Electronics\, Data Acquisition\, Signal Processing\, Instrumentation\, Control and Industrial Automation. The objective of this hands-on training is to get advanced experience in handling and developing LabVIEW based applications to solve core engineering problems. \n\n\n\nThe resource person\, Mr. Manjunatha also gave an overview of how industrial challenges are solved using LabVIEW by referencing actual difficulties from real-world applications toward the end of the workshop.

SUMMARY:Painting Competition Under Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam
DESCRIPTION:With respect to the India’s G20 presidency AICTE proposed to conduct various events under “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or One Earth One Family One Future closely lies with LIFE (Life style for Environment) with a focus on sustainable and environment friendly life styles\, harmony within the human family and honest conversations about climate change and global security. \n\n\n\nEco Club and Health & Hygiene Maintenance Committee organized “Painting Competition” on 20/02/2023. The themes of the competition were “Sustainable and Environment Friendly Life Styles” & “Honest Conversations About Climate Change”. \n\n\n\nThere were 23 participants for the event. Participants were instructed to choose any one of the themes mentioned above. The paintings done by the participants were judged by Prof. Pramukh Ganapathy\, HOD Civil Dept. Prof. Kirthan\, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering\, Prof. Dechakka M P\, Dept. of Electronics and Communication\, Prof. Anjali\, Dept of Basic Science\, Mr. Chittiappa A U\, Foreman Dept of Mechanical Engineering. \n\n\n\nThe paintings done by the participants were creative and expressive. Ideas executed by the participants were highly appreciated. \n\n\n\nThe decision regarding the winners was made on the basis of the following criteria: \n\n\n\n\nRelevant to theme\n\n\n\nClarity\n\n\n\nUniqueness\n\n\n\nComposition of colors\n\n\n\n\nThe winners of the painting competition were: \n\n\n\nFirst Place: Sadhu J – AI&ML. \n\n\n\nSecond Place: Chondamma K T – Mechanical Engineering. \n\n\n\nThird Place: Deepika Nachappa N – AI&ML.

SUMMARY:Significance of Honors Degree
DESCRIPTION:The Department had organized a Talk on Honor’s Degree on Saturday\, 25thFebruary 2023 at 3rdfloor seminar hall in the college at 10:30am.All the third semester students of all the branches were present for the event. The main purpose of the talk was to give the students a knowledge on how the honor’s degree would benefit them in their future. \n\n\n\nResource person Prof. Yogesha T\, Department of CS&E\, VTU\, P.G. Center\, Mysuru\, spoke to students about Honor’s degree\, its significance. The criteria to obtain Honor’s Degree by setting minimum CGPA and credit points that they need to achieve/ maintain to be eligible to apply for it. \n\n\n\nHe briefed about the different online courses like NPTEL\, MOOC\, Swayam and AICTE etc. and about the assignment\, fees and exam pattern conducted by these online courses. \n\n\n\nHe also updated about the normal B.E degree and B.E Honor’s degree and calculation of  SGPA and CGPA according to their credits offered to particular subject. The students got an idea about the opportunities that they would get in research field and also the higher packages that would be offered to them. By 5th semester if the students are not having any backlogs and meet all these criteria would be eligible to register for Honor’s degree. Vote of thanks was given by Mahitha -3rd semester CSE student. Hod thanked the resource person for educating our students regarding the Honor’s degree and for his precious time.
