The Central Library is an absolute mine of information, offering best in progressive as well as traditional learning resources. It supports the curriculum and aims to encourage independent study by providing all types of resources. It provides innovative, responsive and effective services to meet the changing needs of the academic community. The major objective is to provide right information to the right users at the right time.

The Central Library has a vast collection of 5,306 titles and 30,082 volumes that are related to science, engineering, management, general books on personality development, competitive exam books. Books are issued to students on a fortnightly basis. Access to 6000 plus e-journal database such as Elsevier – Science Direct, Springer, IEEE proceedings,, Taylor and Francis, ProQuest, Emerald and 20,000 plus e-books from springer, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, McGraw Hill Education, New Age International and Packt is provided apart from 42 national print journals.

The Central Library is automated using integrated institution software “VM EDU LIFE” & has digital library facility where, question papers, free e-books, syllabus and faculty publication can be accessed within the campus. The library provides an online catalogue through which students can search the availability of books and reserve the books.

REFERENCE SECTION

The CIT Library maintains a separate reference collection consisting of text books, rare books, reference books, project reports, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, general knowledge books, yearbooks and, competitive exam books like GRE, GATE, GMAT, CAT, IAS CRS. Print national and international journals, general and technical magazines and newsletter are also available for reference. More than 100 students can be seated at a time at reference section, which will be kept open from 9.30 AM to 7.30 PM.

CIRCULATION SECTION.

The circulation section has around 20,000 books which include textbooks, placement-related books, general reading books etc. that can be borrowed.
Book bank: First and second year students are eligible to get membership of the book bank scheme free of cost. Two textbooks for 1st years and one text book for 2nd year students will be issued under this scheme for a semester. Book should be returned within two days after the theory examination, otherwise a fine of Rs.5/- per day will be charged.
SC/ST students can become  members of the SC/ST Book Bank free of cost. They can borrow three textbooks for each semester under this scheme. Books should be returned within two days after the theory examination.

Institutional Repositories

Digital infrastructure is provided to access subscribed and open access e-journals, e-books, NPTEL lecture notes. DSPACE @ CIT : A digital repository where previous years question papers, syllabus copy, e-books, faculty publication etc. can be accessed. Periodical and News Paper Section

Central Library currently subscribed the Print Journals, Technical Magazines and General Magazines related to various disciplines. The newspaper section has subscriptions to 09 national and regional newspapers for reference. The yearly edition of newspapers are made available in the reference section.

Remote Access:

We are providing a remote access facility using knimbus. We have created a user ID using your email ID for remote access to e- Resources subscribed by CIT. These e-Resources can be accessed outside the CIT campus through knimbus platform.
